Grace Teens - Students in 9th-12th Grade
GT is our high school ministry. We’re all about spending time together on Sunday mornings, serving in our communities, and navigating life together. Our goal is to walk alongside teens to encourage them to build healthy relationships, understand and use Biblical principles as their road map, learn how to make wise choices and be a positive influence with their friends. Our prayer is that upon graduation, each teen has a solid foundation of faith on which they can depend and thrive.
Sunday morning we begin at 9:30am in the main worship service, and then @ 10am dismiss to the Library for a big group discussion, and small group breakouts.
These are once a month Sunday evening gatherings where we’ll break out into small groups, for guys, and for girls, giving teens an opportunity to get to know each other better. We’ll meet up for dinner from 5-6pm, where our mentors will lead discussions on topics and scripture passages that will help us grow in our faith walk.
Join us on the 1st Sunday of each month as we meet from 5-7pm for dinner and discussion at the Knechtle house. We’ll dig into topics that will help us make the transition from high school into the real world with faith as our foundation.
This is how we live out our faith as we seek to build community serving others. Sign up to be a peer buddy for a teen with special needs @ Capernaum Club; serve meals at the New Covenant House, Hand out food through the Mobile Food Pantry or Pack up backpacks for impoverished school kids at Filling in the Blanks. An hour or two each month makes a big difference in the life of someone in need … and serving others is a great feeling that you just can’t beat! PLUS - it’s also a great way to log in community service hours.
QUEST - Students in 6th - 8th Grade
QUEST is our ministry for 6th-8th graders at Grace Community Church. Our mission is to create a safe place for open discussions about all facets of teen life, including the challenges they face in school, with friends, and in their communities. Together we’ll develop friendships within our group, and look at real-life topics and issues through the lens of the Bible.
Teens will begin their morning in the Sanctuary @ 9:30am, with their family for the main service. At 10am, they will be dismissed to the East Barn Lounge for breakfast and interactive discussion through our series called LIVE. Each week we’ll tackle topics that challenge teens to grow in their faith, and consider ways to live it out with their friends and in their schools and communities.
On the first Sunday of each month we hang out from 5-7pm in the Court. It’s all about crazy games, opportunities to develop friendships with peers, pizza (of course), a meaningful message and girl/guy small groups.
Serving others is what God calls us to do, and how we live out our faith in a tangible way. We know your teens are busy, but we’ll offer seasonal opportunities to volunteer; Filling in the Blanks - Thanksgiving Back Packs, Pura Vida - Christmas Mailboxes, Night to Shine - February Prom Night for Teens with Special Needs, and more! (If teens need volunteer credit hours, these are great opportunities to fulfill their goals!)
