| What is Grace Community Church about?
1) We are about worshiping God and being connected to Christ. To worship is to consider something ultimately worthy. Jesus teaches us to worship by saying the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9). The purpose and meaning of our lives comes from worshiping God who loves us and is bigger than our lives and our pleasure. We worship by responding to God in two ways: with joy as a result of His grace, love and mercy and with reverence by being lost in praise and adoration for Him, His majesty and His glory.
2) We are about growing in our faith and Christ-like character. We grow by learning to respond to life with a Christ-like character. To be poor in spirit (one of the beatitudes in Matthew 5) is to let go of our control and power and to acknowledge we need God. Rather than being self-sufficient and independent, we pray to God: "Lord Jesus, I need you this day. In my weakness, I need your power and grace. God gives us the power to change."

3) We are about connecting with each other, fellowship. We are to love and be devoted to each other. We are to let each other know that we are thinking and praying for their well-being. We are to make time to be with each other and to lift the burdens of each other through prayer, encouragement and help. Our Small Groups give us the opportunity to develop more intimate relationships and to hold each other accountable.
4) We are about service and using the gifts God has given us. We need to strive to learn what our spiritual gifts are and then serve with them to make a difference and bring about change in this world. Jesus came not to be served but to serve; He revealed that God is a servant.
5) We are about introducing people to Jesus Christ. We are to be an agent of God by standing against evil and injustice and helping others to understand that although life is full of mystery and is unfair, God is fair and good. Jesus Christ is God's ultimate solution to the problems of life.
