We were involved in community service each afternoon for 7hours totaling 30 hours of service including chores. These encounters in the community of Newhall consisted of door to door visitations, a visit to a local Nursing Home, VBS (Vacation Bible School) and construction (working on a trailer; attached pictures). We found out quickly that the task was more daunting than our team would be able to handle and relied on our union in Christ to endure the challenge. Each of us grew in our relationship with each other and more importantly with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It was a privilege to work alongside of these students and see first hand how they were using their God given talents. We all returned safely late evening on Friday July, 9th. All of us were much more aware of how blessed we are to live in New Canaan. Thank you all for your prayers and support for witch this trip could not take place! In September we will have a slide show presentation to share with everyone our adventures.
We started each day with breakfast and soon after we had daily devotions/ a concert of prayer. This allowed for us to prepare for what was ahead of us during the course of the day. Just before lunch we had chores. Our group was in charge of preparing dinner for everyone each night. After lunch we headed out for our assignments.
