Welcome to Sunday school at Grace Community Church! Our objective is to serve, and help our children better understand the word of God, as well as the principles and values of what it means to be a Christian. Our goal is that every child will come to know Christ, and develop a vibrant faith in Him.
With a talented and dedicated group of volunteer teachers, our program is in session September through June and includes the following:
Nursery: Babies-2 years old
Pre- school: ages 3 & 4
Kindergarten- 1st grade
2nd- 3rd grade
4th- 5th grade
6th 8th grade
Our curriculum for pre-school 5th grade is Discipleland from Through the Bible publishers. It is a bible- based curriculum with discussion topics and activities that insure the basic message of God’s love are explained in an exciting, age appropriate way.
The middle school class 6th-8th grade, is called Sunday Sessions, and it does not follow a set curriculum. Here teachers provide thought provoking topics of discussion using music, games and stories to help pre-teens see the value of the bible, and how it’s message can apply to their everyday lives. This year, they will be working through the book Don’t Check Your Brains at the Door by Josh McDowell and Bob Hostetler . The book explains how Christianity stands up to the test of fact and reason. To add to their sessions, the Grace Community Church rock band will perform on occasion for the middle school class. The band, led by Tod Baharian welcomes any and all kids interested in singing/playing in a band.
In addition to our classes, Grace has a middle school youth group that meets bi-weekly after the service, and a high school youth group that meets every Sunday night during the school year.
On the first Sunday of the month we offer a church service geared toward children called “Safari Sunday” which is our journey into the bible. The service includes music, a short message tailored for children, games, and a bible verse put to music. It’s a fun, active time where the children enjoy being together in the gymnasium. This year we are reviewing the fruit of the spirit from Galatians chapter 5. The themes for Safari Sunday change each year.
While we conduct a formal registration in May/June for the following school year, we welcome your child’s participation in our classes at any time.

During the summer months (late June- Labor Day) we offer a modified program for children in kindergarten through 4th grade with parent led stories and games in the gymnasium. We do not hold classes on major holidays so children can worship with their parents as a family.
There are a couple of ways you can help your child acclimate to our Sunday school. May we suggest:
-Informing us of any allergies or special needs your child may have.
-Assisting in your child’s class
We are very blessed to have volunteers at Grace Community church who serve and share their talent with the children in our program. We ask that each child behave respectfully during class time so everyone may benefit from the lesson, if not, they will be brought back to their parents in the sanctuary. If your child is not feeling well, we ask that you not send them to class. We will be happy to send a lesson home with you.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have, or offer suggestions to better our program.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!
